Celebrating the life of
Bette Morrow Stafford
September 23, 1930 - April 29, 2016
Bette Morrow Stafford (Elizabeth Jane), of Tybee Island, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 29, 2016. She was 85 years old. Bette was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 25, 1930. At age 12 she moved with her family to Orlando, Florida. After graduating from Orlando High School in 1948, she moved to Savannah, Georgia where, on a city bus, she met the love of her life and husband of over 50 years, Jack Cauley Stafford. They were married on January 5, 1950. She faithfully lived in service and obedience to God Almighty and emulated the life of her Savior, Jesus Christ in all of her endeavors. Through her many years of service as a Sunday School teacher, Bible Study leader, and speaker and leader for Christian Women’s Club and Stonecroft Ministries, Bette’s steadfast faith and love for God’s Word helped many to see the joy and peace that comes from living a life in Christ.
Bette was a long time resident of Garden City and member of the Garden City United Methodist Church. She served on the Board of the Chatham Nursing Home, as a Pink Lady at Telfair Hospital and room mom and party planner to many classrooms. She loved singing, cooking, crafting and decorating. Bette is preceded in death by parents, her beloved husband Jack, her son Jack C. Stafford, Jr. and her daughter Diane Susan Stafford.
She is survived by her children Deborah Stafford of Garden City, Donna Stafford of Tybee Island, Kimberley Stafford Beatty and Brian P. Beatty of Peachtree City as well as the granddaughters she adored Sarah Elizabeth Beatty, Madeline Louise Beatty, LillyAnne Stafford Beatty, all of Peachtree City and Katharine Stafford Thomas of Garden City. Her infectious laugh and joyful spirit touched the lives of each and every person she met. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Dear Stafford Family, we all love Mrs Bette so much. She has been such an incredible witness for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We shared many special times together during Sunday school, and she was just the most amazing leader. She made a positive impact in the life of so many people. She was truly gifted in so many ways. She had the most special way of listening, sharing God's word, and providing encouragement. She will surely be missed. She loved her family so much, and she was so proud of all of you.
